Re: I-websolutions

And remember folks, should anyone from i-web materialise, under the terms of their SLA you're entitled to a refund of this months subscription. (I don't think anyone really believes it'll be back up before it hits 88.9%, if at all)

Quote:
Service Level

I-Web Solutions goal is to offer 100% web site availability to all customers.

Remedy:
Subject to the exceptions below, if the Web Site Availability of a customer's Web site is less than 100%, I-Web Solutions will issue a credit to customer in accordance with the following schedule, with the refund being calculated on the basis of the monthly service charge for the affected Services:

Web Site Availability Refund Percentage
99 to 100% 0%
97.5% to 99% 10%
94% to 97.4% 25%
89 % to 93.9% 50%
88.9% or below 100%

Re: I-websolutions

I cancelled my account with them a long time ago. They seem to have gone even more downhill than when I made that decision.

Re: I-websolutions

I've contacted Poundhost (which appears to be where uk2 is colocated), they probably won't be able to do anything but it's worth a go.

Edit: Poundhost have told me it's with vooservers.

Re: I-websolutions

Well I am now with eUKHost great 24/7 support and I tried it at 10:30 last night - full transcripts of any chats with them are emailed afterwards. Support available by MSN with all the staff from CEO/Sales/Techies etc.

Nameservers updated with 123-REG

Domains now available with the odd customer refusing to accept an appology from me.

My steps with regards to an earlier post:
Signed up with eUKHost (see link above)
Created my account with them
Got welcome email to a working email address
Signed on to cPanel via IPaddress:portname
Created mail accounts etc.
Logged into 123-REG (see link above)
Amended NameServers for my domain to point at eUKHost ones

Waited for changes to be replicated to Nominet and Web 24/48 Hours (took about 4 hours)

Restored sites from local backup although need to take a backup when (if) UK2 is back up to get current versions of sites.

Matt,

I've emailed Nominet and 123-Reg asking how I go about getting my domain name back. It's registered in my name so I'm hoping it shouldn't be too much of a nause.

Once I know how to go about it I'll post here, hopefully that may help you too.

Re: I-websolutions

Cheers

I've put a transfer order through anyway with 123reg. Says I need to get the IPS TAG changed to "123-REG", so I've sent i-web another ticket requesting that.

i-web used FASTHOSTS/UKREG for my domain name. The UKREG site has a guide for releasing a domain name, although you have to pay & it still requires someone being able to contact the UKREG reseller (i-web).

If you're going to pay to change the IPS tag, cut out the middleman and go straight to Nominet. It's what I had to do to get a couple of domains away from xreg.co.uk

I-Web Solutions started in January 2003, and has since purchased one competitor, and merged with another. The company is growing fast, and as more clients arrive, we get more requests for different services. These are all introduced as soon as they are physically possible. This is what makes us different from the rest, we listen!

Our support levels are second to none. We have many clients comment on how fast and efficient our support team is. We tend to get to know most of our clients personally, giving that little edge over much larger companies that cant offer this sort of service.
Yeah, right.

I've had a look at the Nominet site. £10+VAT, so cheaper than going via UKREG.

Can't log on though, lol. Created a new password, but it won't let me in

Still not sure if I could do it that way anyway, as i-Web did it on my behalf via FASTHOSTS/UKREG... I think my Nominet account would only be for my other domain names?

I've already arranged another host but I need the server back-up so I can transfer everything over.

I have Adams old mobile number but he has changed it.

Re: I-websolutions

yeah, we all want to get to the server and get the accounts off... and then you won't see us for dust.

Personally I'm starting to think that we're not going to be able to get the accounts back.
