I'm surprised Adam or Willy - or Phil, even, let alone some ex CF mods, haven't replied to the criticism, but to imply their problems are long standing isn't fair, in my opinion

Their response to support tickets has been woeful for the last few months.
If VMs customer site servers were down I'm sure people would be baying for Bransons blood.
Many here use them from when this was originally hosted by them and the two were more co-joined.
Google and many other sites don't like websites being off line for long periods of time, nor does my bank account. Christmas sales are a challenge to comeby when your cart is not visible.

Re: I-websolutions
Probably about the same time they logged on there support ticket board if my tickets are anything to go by. Adam has been ignoring me on MSN for sometime (end of Sept). I see the service is still down this morning ... We'll I've moved my accounts now wonder if I'll ever get a refund of my reseller account that is unused.
OK now that I have my domain moved - I've got a password for I-WEB and I've flamed on there too (to keep people happy), I've also raised a support ticket to add to those already there. http://forum.i-websolutions.co.uk/sh...=1565#post1565

I-Websolutions.INFO 85.13.195.202
I-Websolutions.co.uk 85.234.146.20

My boss tried to ring Adam a week or so ago too, turns out he's changed his mobile number.

Re: I-websolutions
Although he's done a few freebies for me in the past, this seems to be very unprofessional behaviour from Adam and co.

Re: I-websolutions
Well if this situation persists I shall just let it lapse when payment time comes around. It's not so drastic for me as it's just a hobby and I'm all backed up plus I don't have a domain.
Hope you all get sorted out soon.
And may I add that Adam and Willie REALLY ought to own up and confess if they are letting it go because of other more lucrative commitments. It's not professional and it's extremely bad business.Shame on them for not being more responsive to everyone's concerns for the last year. They are being bad lads.

Re: I-websolutions
Incong - I thought the same as you - I just let it laps and canceled the repeating payment in Paypal but they still managed to take the money and it was only when I raised a complaint with Paypal did they get in touch and refund the money. Contacting them any other way just didn't work.
So be aware and check your payment method after it's lapsed

They do, UK1, UK2, UK3 etc.
I've been using their webmail a lot over the past few months and thankfully last weekend I pulled my last 4 months and 60Mb of mail off there. That is on my personal domain which I can deal with the hassle of losing for a few days.
The one that is running a secure shopping cart is a far bigger annoyance, not selling anything while the server is down, moving it is more challenging as the security certificate etc needs to move and well it is a live database tracking what is and what isn't in stock so that would need adjustment from whenever the latest backup was (and I am not sure when that was either!
Grrrr.

I think Adams involvement became far less intense when he had a baby. Spending all night in a data centre fixing a problem became far more of a time management challenge at that point.
I guess Willie is more of the business side as at one point he did not even have access to the support site.
With just the two of them it could be that both are away somewhere this weekend and are unable to get to dealing with this / in front of a computer. An explanation, not an excuse. You find someone to cover for you and with text and email alerts you should know anyway.

It's not just this weekend though, it's been weeks now that people haven't had responses to support tickets/emails or forum posts, it's a completely unacceptable and unethical way to run a business.
I for one am sick of making excuses for their incompetence, remember that whole debacle when Kestrel was "on the back of a lorry" causing day's of downtime?
If it's not up tomorrow I'm going to attempt to contact the datacentre to see if they can offer any availability on it for customers to retrieve their data so they can move elsewhere, who knows, it might work.

Re: I-websolutions
Not too worried about my data, but deepest sympathies for anybody that is, I just need to transfer my domain.
I'm trying to 're-establish my identity' with Nominet so that I can change the Domain Information (hopefully), I'm also asking 123-reg if they can help in any way. Unfortunately it all seems to rest on getting some response, and action, out of the i-web team at the moment.

Re: I-websolutions
This blows huge carroty chunks.
Server UK2 http://www.i-websolutions.info/
Up-Time History Detail:
Year Month Outages Uptime
2007 December 2 92.4286% << and decreasing
If anyone puts up an idiots guide somewhere, for forcibly transferring one's domain name and possibly the webspace (assuming one ever gets access to the server again) from i-web solutions to another provider then please let us (idiots) know.
TIA

Transfering the data is easy just get a full account backup and give it to your new host, or Get them to do a account migration (if the other server is online and both run cpanel)
Forcibly transferring the domain however is not so easy you will have to prove to either the registrar or the Authority responsible for that TLD that you are the rightful owner and see if they hand over control of the domain to you.. they may charge an admin fee to look at it.
