Gmail?

Just tried checking my mail, get this error:

This account has been locked down due to unusual account activity. It may take up to 24 hours for you to regain access.

First time it has happened to me, seems very strange. I don't use the account for anything other than recieving and (rarely) sending email. Anyone had this before? I have been able to check it today several times, I use Firefox but problem also exists in Internet Explorer.

Perhaps the unusual account activity was someone trying to get into read your email and getting the password wrong multiple times?

Or an application like gDrive has been used on the email account at some point over the last month?

Alternatively, if your details are in Google Checkout and you have attempted to make a purchase through it lately, it may be related...
