Codemasters have set the now notorious Davenport Lyons legal firm on individuals who they claim have downloaded copies of Colin Mcrae Dirt from file sharing networks.
Many of you will remember Davenport Lyons as the law firm behind the recent 3D Dream Pinball affair; where hundreds of individuals were accused of downloading the game and sent threatening letters after their ISPs divulged their personal details upon service of a court order under the RIPA.
Worrying thing is that the so called anti-piracy firm behind the scenes: Logistep claims to have a system which is "foolproof". A rather bold claim when you consider their evidence is based solely on the IP address of the host uploading/downloading the file!
Incidentally, the French and Italian courts have already told these people to sod off.
