I went on there to have a look around but I got bored of it after a while.

Re: Second Life
Having tried this lagfest on both a pc and a mac, I find it frankly disappointing.
It's not fun at all... graphically? Grey blocks and featureless landscapes until you stop flying and land - and even then... you're hanging like a condemned man... it's about as much fun as watching paint dry - heck, you could do that anyway, you lag like crazy until you leave the tutorial (which is a notorious area for lagging).
Someone else I know runs this sh**efest regularly and annoys people who can't/don't want to run it despite our pleas for this person to STFU about it...
If you're really into wanting to try anything - go for 'The Sims' instead... seriously, it's just as entertaining but won't rip your cpu to shreds and you can use it offline aswell as online.
Thank heavens my laptop doesn't support SL... and my other PC is too old to run it!
You really do need the processing power to run SL - and ask yourself this - would it be worth spending the money upgrading enough on your system to find out you really don't like SL?
It doesn't matter about your internet speed, or how good the computer is... it's a good idea badly done and open to frequent attacks of flying male genitalia thanks in part to the fact that some parts of SL are open for developers to do stuff... Thanks, but I'm too busy with my OWN life to start thinking about a SL... it's certainly NOT a prog for youngsters... go for the Sims instead (just for the record: I've never played around with 'The Sims' except for the demos...)
And I know what I prefer

Re: Second Life
Do people not have real lifes, do they not go outside anymore?
Have that much of a boring life they feel the need to create a virtual life? including virtual sex and weddings? o.0

Re: Second Life
second life is now enabled so that you can talk online. Is this the equivalent of an online phone call? If so it may become payable at some point
