Yes you have to signup to someone like newshosting or giganews and i think it's well worth it for the reasons i mentioned above, assuming you can afford £7 a month that is.

It sounds complicated but its not, once you're signed up to someone.

i have a giganews account now - its fast and simple.

i notice i can have 10 connections at the same time.
Now perhaps i misunderstand or have it setup wrong but...........
currently my newsgroup reading software currently downloads 3 files at the same time (im happy with this) as i can have 10 connections can i not share my details with 2 of my mates so we then use 9 connections?
or am i getting it all wrong.

Giganews personal accounts are for single customer use only. Your account is restricted to a single computer / IP address at any one time.

Yes that must be correct as not everyone has the same IP all the time.
