The spell checker is rather neat. No excuses for crappy spelling on the forum anymore!

Put this in your prefs.js file with Firefox closed, then start it again:
user_pref("browser.urlbar.hideGoButton", true)
prefs.js is in your profile folder, if it doesn't exist just create it in a text editor...
That's if you want to get rid of it of course, but where would you want to move it to?

I know how to get rid of it [about :config >> change browser.urlbar.hideGoButton to TRUE]
But I'd much prefer it in a more sensible place, below the bookmarks menu item, at the front of the address bar, grouped with the other buttons. Like I used to have it in all previous versions of FF/FB :/
Seems silly, it's now attached to the address bar

Why don't you want to just hit enter when you've typed in a url?

I always thought the Go button was pointless.

Re: Firefox 2 - out tomorrow
I do, but I'm lazy and don't want to move my hand off the mouse once I've already pressed Enter after typing in the address, if I need to refresh the page. I kind of used to use it as a Reload button
I just moved my reload button instead, something I never thought of moving before. DOH!

Good idea if you have to use it!
Otherwise looks like you'll be waiting for Fx 3 until it may be separated again....

marking fixed-as-its-gonna-get1.8.1 so it falls off queries. Might be worth
splitting off into a new bug to discuss a more general approach that solves
this for endcaps in general for Fx3
