PayPal Scam?
I've just got a notification purporting to come from PayPal.Summat about some bloke called Mathew Eldridge has sent me $52.90.
ReallY! Why? I've not ordered anything from someone by that name and I don't know anyone of that name...
There is a link to go to but I'm damned sure I'm not clicking on it...

Re: PayPal Scam?
There are so many paypal scams, asking you to confirm your account details, there have been irregularities etc....
Never ever click a paypal link in an e-mail!

Re: PayPal Scam?
Incog, log into your paypal account by typing the normal address (paypal.com or paypal.co.uk). You should be able to check any recent transactions there.

I have got two already today from the very generous Matthew Eldridge...
Its a scam. The link that says "View the details of this transaction online" is a scammers site made to look like a PayPal link... You click it thinking its genuine (looks it at first glance)... and it catches your details. There's also another clue in the e-mail header.
If you look closely the URL has www.paypal.com.cgi-bin.... when it should be www.paypal.com/cgi-bin... You aren't going to paypal.com you are going to login-run.mn which is the last part of all the URL.

I have used my paypal account once.I'm having difficulty remembering my details...sigh...
Ah just seen how generous this chap has been to all my pals here...Thought it was too good to be true as no one ever wants to give me something for nothing these days.

Re: PayPal Scam?
Got a few of them from him. Logged into his dodgy site via an anonymous proxy and filled in the username block as 'where's the ****** money then!?' and then reported him to the IP block owner.

Re: PayPal Scam?
I got the email today as well, on an address which is an unusual and never been used on any website.
Also, it took 36 years to reach me
...and I do not have a Paypal account, so where he sent it to...I wonder if I open one, will he resend it? I want my money!!!
