Phishing Scam Alert - Barclays

Heads up!

I had 3 scam bank "verification" emails posing as Barclays.co.uk today on one of my email accounts (not NTL). I don't even have a barclays account and even if I did then I'm not that naive.

So, if you are unsure and receive such a barclays email requesting your persona info, contact: internetsecurity@barclays.co.uk.
To include a copy of the scam email, in outlook express, right click on it, select properties, click on the "message source" button, select all the text including the header info and use Ctrl-C to copy to clipboard. Open a new email to internetsecurity@barclays.co.uk and paste it into that.
Delete the scam email.

Some customers have been receiving an email claiming to be from Barclays advising them to follow a link to what appear to be a Barclays web site, where they are prompted to enter their personal Online Banking details. Barclays is in no way involved with this email and the web site does not belong to us. Barclays does not send emails to customers requesting security or any other confidential information. Please do not reply to any such emails or follow any links to web sites claiming to be Barclays Online Banking.

If you think you've received a fraudulent email that looks like it's from Barclays, forward the entire email including the header and footer to internetsecurity@barclays.co.uk and then delete it from your email account.
