Re: Free domain names

I don't think you can get "free" domain names, unless some one is nice enough to give one to you (which I wouldn't count on.)

The only type of "domain" I would think is "free" would be http://www.shorturl.com, but it's a re-director.

I know it's been said before, but why not just get some proper hosting (e.g. I-Web)? It really isn't very expensive at all, & you can buy a domain name quite cheaply now.

Re: Free domain names

dot.tk is free, but you do not own the url which frames your web address anyway.

I paid £7 for 2 years for my address of www.woskf.co.uk from 123-reg.co.uk you can have it framed or a forward to your actual address e.g. click the woskf link above to see...look at the address bar.

It looks like dot.tk might be what Wayne is looking for. Certainly worth a look, anyway - only downside is minimum 25 hits every 90 days.

Yes I did go to that link, and I was wondering what the Forumer was? I have never heard of it...... although I followed a little bit more and it says it is a free forum, but I could not see where you get the forum!

if you go to my forum you will first see the portal. Then click on the forums link. Scroll down to the bottom and click set up your
FORUM

Or click the link above. Registerations are currently down atm because forumer are installing Server 6.

Re: Free domain names

So its more like a message thing than an actual forum, like cable forum?

I see the skins show you a forum like this, but the forums of people just look like profiles with messages at the bottom, not uinless I am daft and just can't see the correct link!

Re: Free domain names

Wayne, How about suggesting your folks buy you a domain and some hosting for xmas? - You could get both for sub £20 and if they are kind enough for a subscription then your sorted for life...

www.wayne.me.uk is even available - be quick now...

Re: Free domain names

Yes I been there, but I can't seem to get a forum although I signed up, there is no link to forums, just a profile page, and some FAQs that don't answer anything
