Re: PC World Online Helthcheck
Heh, if I'm never going to take my PC in to PC World just for them to gash it up, I'm certainly not downloading something from their site to do it automatically.

Re: PC World Online Helthcheck
On a whim I decided to try it on my laptop, which I'm going to reinstall XP on tomorrow anyway, it downloaded the plugin, did it's bits, then came up with a blank page saying
"Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable"
Great stuff!

Yeah, PC Pitstop is ok, I prefer to use something like Sisoft Sandra though.

Re: PC World Online Healthcheck
Ok, it worked this time, I'm amazed at how completely crap it is.
It said ...
Your computer does not appear to have proper antivirus protection.
I say, yes it does, It's running Avast! Pro
It said ...
Your computers task bar does not show the speaker volume control
I say, firstly, who the hell cares but secondly .. what's this speaker volume control in my taskbar I'm looking at then?

why on earth would he want to do that?
working in a high-pressure double glazing sales call centre is better than working anywhere in the dixons group

Re: PC World Online Healthcheck
I take it that Dixons arent to be touched with a 10ft bargepole then.

well, it depends what area of the shop you workin really. i know someone who worked for them who did nothing but stock control all the time, he said that was much better and more interesting than the people who get to serve customers...
...but the servers are commision-based if they work at the digital camera counters etc etc so get more money
and dixons are undercutting blankdiscshp.co.uk by £50 on the new liteon dvd recorder which is great
personal preference, me harty
