Anyone recommend a good binary newsreader?

and also how do you put multipart rar files together?

I've not used it, but the one in the link looks quite good, and it's free!

One I have used is Forte Agent

which if you don't register reverts to a feature limited version (Free Agent). The main feature removed is decoding yEnc files.

Agent & Free Agent are extremely good at grouping multiple part posts, which makes decoding RAR files (With WinRar) much easier.

Winrar to put rar files together again. Quickpar to recover/repair any missing or damaged files.

Yes, Winrar will automatically unrar files that were compressed as the same set. You usually need to start with the *.rar file, which then looks for a *.r01, followed by *.r02, then *.r03, etc.... If you don't have a *.rar file, then try starting with the *.r01 instead.
