Nice little trick for MSN Explorer

ok, if you use MSN Explorer to sign up for an @msn.com email address they give you 2GB worth of space. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. Try it and see what you think.

Yeah, but the question is wether this is an intentional move or a bug in the roll out.

I suspect the latter - otherwise a lot of paying users of the premium service will be pretty peveed.

iirc , microsoft are doing this to try and counter thpresumed effect of g-mail

Yeah, but they are giving non-paying users 250Mb and paying users 2BG IIRC.

I signed up for a free account using MSN Explorer and got 2000mb storage space showing as available!

I only used it because I'm doing a reinstall of Windows 2000 on the spare machine tomorrow so it wasn't too much fuss for me.

Not too much of a fuss for me as I doubt I'll ever use 2GB but I can make the most of it while I have it!

I run windows98se, still

- a google on 'msn explorer' comes up with plenty of links - all of which lead back to the Ã‚Â£15 a month 'enhanced' package.

That will be upgraded to 2GB storage 'soon'.

my 'normal' hotmail account still shows 2MB free - and says more will be added 'soon', too.

I really can't see the point of going for MSN/Hotmail when you can have a GMail account whenever you want it.
