Javascript problem with IE.... HELP PLEASE.

Ok, another problem with Internet Explorer has appeared on my lemon, sorry computer.

I've been trying to look at flights from Toronto to St. John's in Newfoundland. And no matter which of the 4 airline booking services I've tried online none work. Its as if the javascript is'nt/ cant be read by IE.

Dont suppose any of you wizards can tell me whats goin on with my puter. Before I take the side off, and and apply my right boot to the thing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

EoB.

Re: Javascript problem with IE.... HELP PLEASE.

Dont blame your PC. Its unlikely any IATA based CRS would show up that sector, other than as part of an overall journey.

Retry listing the 3 letter code for St Johns as part of a longer itinerary - ie LGW/YYZ/insert obscure airport code here - chances are it will be an add-on fare with a small local airline not listed on main systems.

Re: Javascript problem with IE.... HELP PLEASE.

Depends on your version of IE whether or not javascript can be used. M$ had to remove it after a legal dispute.

You can get authorised versions from http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp (will do an automated download for windows based computers)

No mate, I want to the homepage of the airpost in St. John's. Got a list of carriers, went to each carriers website, and cant get any of the booking pages to work properly. Apart from basic navigation around the websites, few functions work, none of the dropdown lists (for airports) work, though I can change travel dates. Cant change between 1 adult and 2 adults, cant progress beyond the first page of the booking list. I'm totally disconbobulated as to what the problem is. I'm beginning to thing an uninstall of IE, then reinstalling of the xp disk might sort out this and other problems I been having with IE lately.

EDIT > this problem only seems to have started today.

Re: Javascript problem with IE.... HELP PLEASE.

Some airline CRS systems will only accept 'Country of Origin' bookings.

As you say, it could be a PC/ie issue - is it only these 4 sites that fail, or is it general?

Re: Javascript problem with IE.... HELP PLEASE.

Well had a quick look at Ba and Easyjet and they both seem to be workin fine. But to be honest it a rather narrow set of examples.

You're confusing Javascript with Java which is a completely different thing.

Try going into the internet options then set the security for the internet zone to default.
It might have been set too high due to the recent IE exploits.
