Streaming using Shoutcast [Help]
Need some help setting up computer to stream using shoutcast.
Has anyone tried this before? What i want to do is let some friends stream some music from me, and i want my computer to be set up to do the broadcasting.
Computer is setup in a network and it is not the one connected directly to the net, but a client.

Re: Streaming using Shoutcast [Help]
Ok ive managed to get the host to stream the files but when i try and stream through client i dont see how or rather what IP i need to access it.
Doing ipconfig through dos shows up only the network IP. And giving out the ip of my host when the streamer is on the host machine works fine, but im not sure if it will when the streamers on the client.

Re: Streaming using Shoutcast [Help]
The IP gotten off that site is the same as the one my host uses (the broadband connection). I turned of shoutcast running on host and tried on a networked client, using the ip address ive used before and this time it didnt work.
:S
I guess its an issue of forwarding to the right computer, but i dont know how to do that.

Re: Streaming using Shoutcast [Help]
How is the network connected? Is it connected to a dedicated hardware router, or do you have a computer acting as a router (using something like Internet Connection Sharing on Windows XP)?
If it is a dedicated router, post the Manufacturer/Model no and I'll try and find some instructions so I can give more detailed help.

Re: Streaming using Shoutcast [Help]
ICS on Windows XP.
Client > Cable > Host > Cable > Net (no routers)

Re: Streaming using Shoutcast [Help]
Basically the shoutcast port (usually 8000) on the computer you are sharing the connection on needs to be forwarded to the shoutcast port (usually 8000) on the computer running shoutcast.
I found some generic instructions on port forwarding in ICS (the only ones I found that were specific to shoutcast were only for Windows 98)
http://support.microsoft.com/default...NoWebContent=1
If that doesn't work, try http://tinyurl.com/yto36

You may need to to enable the port forwarding.
