MSN Explorer update
Hi, when i formatted my hard drive yesterday i clicked on MSN Explorer and it said there was an update. I was downloading updates from windows update at the time and the MSN Explorer setup told me that it needed to close all other browser windows in order to proceed. I accidently closed the MSN Explorer and i now can't get the update.
Can anyone help me?

Re: MSN Explorer update
Then uninstall and delete anything with msn explorer in regedit. Make sure its only msn explorer too. After this install again and you should be able to update then. Oh delete any files its left in the temp folders too.
Only try this mind if you know what your doing other wise your in s#'t creek

I was wondering that, but thought not to ask.
There's always Firefox instead.....

Re: MSN Explorer update
Indeed, and if you need to access your Hotmail etc then why not log in via Firefox or use MSN Messenger?

Why can't you tell MSN to open your Hotmail box in the default browser instead of IE though?

Re: MSN Explorer update
Quite so.
Without turning this into another "isn't Firefox brilliant" thread, I'd just like to point out that Firefox is brilliant. I'm just getting used to the GMail checker extension now which is fantastic and the whole program really does make browsing a better experience.
However, I'll shut up again now and let the thread get back on topic.

I guess you spotted AOL on the desktop.
Is that a teletubby picture set up as background as my grandson wants one on his PC.

Probably because it's MS software and MS just assumes that IE is the default browser so does a "shell:iexplore http://www.hotmail.com/hoTmAiL?xxxx".
In other news, I seem to have been able to uninstall IE6 from my machine with SP2 - I noticed it in the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs, I removed it and I can find no trace of it since!
