ICQ registration

i have installed ICQ and i am trying to register for it... but it cannot register for some reason. It scans to see if it can find a port to use to connection to login.icq.com but fails.

I am normally behind Linksys WRT54G with NAT firewall enabled... i have tried disabling this... tried forwarding the appropriate port to my pc...( it is either 5190 or 5290, can't remmeber at the moment) tried putting the pc in the DMZ... disabled and uninstalled the firewall on my pc (Zone Alarm), but it is still having none of it!

Any help would be appreciated

Re: ICQ registration

first off I would make sure you have reset everything in the router to the defaults, or what they were before you tried to register ICQ.

The port, afaik, is 5190, port forwarding should work, but you said you had tried that?

- have you got upnp enabled in the router settings?

Re: ICQ registration

but i have tried it with my pc in the DMZ... should any nat settings shouldn't affect it. As far as i can remember (not at home at the moment) i have got upnp enabled.

and i have reset to before i installed ICQ... i am thinking that it is probably a pc issue though rather than the router.
