Talking the new 'red' card

a brazillian referee is facing divorce from his wife, after paulo coise was due to be sent off by referee jose figueira ferro, instead of being shown the red card, he was shown a red pair of knickers.

this caused huge embarrasment for the ref who had no idea how the knickers got in to his pocket, he subsequantly ended the match 20 mins early .

mr ferro's wife was not amused and has filed for a divorce.

Re: the new 'red' card

Well I suppose there is at least one party who is likely profit from the thing and had ample opportunity to put the knickers in his pocket, and it's not the laundry lady...

Edit: But that is no reason for ending a match 20 minutes early. That's just criminal I hope his wife gets full compensation

Does that change anything?

I was suggesting his wife put them in his pocket, so she would have a ground for divorce...

that could have been the case, unless he has been unfaithful.

But he's a ref. He's impartial...

This bloke is either really really stupid, or the knickers were planted (in which case he is still stupid, as I think you would feel the difference between a red card and a pair of knickers). I still maintain he should not have cut the match short, and his ref license should be revoked.

Re: the new 'red' card

Did the fact that they were "lacy" make any difference?
Would she not have such a problem with it had they been plain ones?
And what sort of an idiot cannot tell the difference between a card & lace when picking it out of your pocket?
