Smile Your best wind up's at work

What trick have you played on people at your work ?

I remember one I played on someone when I was in tech on the phones.

I left a message on one of the teams desk asking for him to call mr Lion ! Urgent ! I put the local zoo's phone number on it and sat and listened on the supervisor ext.

He called the number....

Zoo - Good afternoon wipsnade wild animal park...

Tech - Hello can I speak to my lion please....

Zoo - Sorry we dont have a lion, we do have tigers though.

The tech now gets mad as he has had a bad day (400) emails

Tech - (p**ed off) NO I WANT TO SPEAK TO MR LION !!!

Zoo - I think someone may be winding you up !

At that point I fell of the chair

Done something similar with a B. Potter and it turned out to be a real life Phoenix Club

Re: Your best wind ups at work

one of my favourites is to take a screenshot of someones desktop.. then set all their toolbars to auto-hide and move them to the opposite sides of the screen.. then move all the desktop shortcuts to a folder and set the screenshot as the wallpaper.. just sit back and see how long it takes them to work it out..
the first assumption will be a lockup so if it's an impatient person they'll go for the reset ... so don't do like i have done in the past and leave all their unsaved work vunerable

Re: Your best wind ups at work

My old boss rang one of my friends who worked in a bank, said he had some money to invest. She asked his name and didn't twig when he said "McCrackin, first name Phil".

I sometimes tell none-Man United fans that I can't put the Prem Plus on for them until they swear allegiance to the Red Army and that it's part of the terms and conditions

Re: Your best wind ups at work

I remember years back at Portsmouth Poly, someone wrote a little program that they put onto some of the BBC Micros that the Poly had.

What it would do was to read the keyboard, intercept any keystrokes and echo them onto the screen, but *without* them actually going into the computer's memory!

So someone would come in, start typing in a program, then when they tried to list it, were baffled as to why there didn't seem to be anything there!

Nasty!!
