Something I thought of the other day, but just remembered again today.
Most forum posters attitudes and moods can be classified as colours.
Have a think, you may find some that you come scarily close to.
RED
Mr. Red always seems to enter a thread on the wrong side.
Innocent comments, often aimed at someone else, are guaranteed to be taken personally.
Helpful advice is dismissed as obvious, ignorant, patronising or irrelevant.
Friendly banter or heaven forbid.... an insult, will be the straw that breaks the camels back.
Fire and brimstone await the intrepid viewers who stay long enough to witness the event.
BLUE
Mr. Blue needs a bit of help, has a bad day, or life, or
trouble and strife.
Often helpful and polite, there will be times when you think he has changed colour.
But then, the illusion will be shattered as the latest tale of woe and disappointment floods like an overflowing bath, turning the ceiling of the forum into a giant patch of mildew, all dank and forbidding.
No matter how pleasant the company, Mr. Blue will put a downer on the whole thing.
Jolly, fun threads, become a wasteland of despondancy.
Jovial, uplifting news becomes a near silent whisper.
Informative threads become a hideous waste of time and effort.
All because, no-one can cheer up Blue.
GREEN
Mr. Green is an interesting fellow, often blending nicely with the middle of the palette.
However, once a member gets some recognition, status, friends or honour... Green, invisibly, under his top layer, turns a shade closer to Mr. Red.
Envy is not a pretty thing, and as we all know
everything comes out in the wash and
your sins will find you out.
Green is often the most colourful because near the end of his often short lifetime he turns into a crazed chameleon.
The envy boiling inside plays havoc with his natural resistance to other colours.
We all know that too many colours make a nasty mess and this is often how Green passes into the forum afterlife.
The temperature rises, sometimes simmering, but always boiling over in the end. Green explodes hoping to splatter as many of the unsuspecting targets of his envy as possible.
YELLOW
Mr. Yellow is never far away but is rarely seen.
The casual observer may never even acknowledge his existance.
Yellow is driven by doubt and cowardice, he lurks until he can take it no longer.
Tentatively he steps out into the fray and agrees with everyone he can, preferably the ones Mr. Green is trying to stab in the back.
Sometimes useful, Yellow will always wait until the coast is utterly barren before he will post the information he stole from somewhere else.
PINK
Mrs. Pink (sorry I know this is very chauvanistic and predictable to make Pink a girl, but bear with me, pweeease
).
She is the ultimate optimist, the cuddliest member (whether you like it or not), often seen with an avatar to match the personality.
Pink will assume that everyone wants to eat sweets, dance and get hyperactive.
Pink is by far the most helpful but rarely the most intelligent pot of paint you ever met.
Despite these few flaws, Pink is the most pleasant to share a thread with.
She will compliment you when you least expect and generally sweep away the mildew and cobwebs left by Mr. Blue.
BLACK
Mr. Black is the nemesis (no Nug, leave it) of all members except Pink, who thinks he's just Navy Blue.
Black seems to pace the forum, sucking light into his void.
The efforts of most will seem futile in his awesome presence.
Unlike Blue, he actually enjoys making everyone miserable and feeds off the carnage Red and Green leave behind.
Black tends to be the most knowledgable member, but only because he sucks everything good and worthwhile into his pit of gloomy nothingness.
When he's helpful, it seems lifeless and cold.
His chatter sounds like fingers down a blackboard.
There we are, thats my brain dump for today.
