worshiping gone too far

a group of bus spotters have set up weekly meetings at sao paulo's coach station to share there passion for buses

douglas de cezare said

"If I could I would own a bus. Besides being a hobby it is a therapy, you forget about your problems when you spend the whole day watching them come and go.

"My obsession started as something funny when I was still a kid and developed to buses becoming the objects of my desire."

Never mind getting that close to the exhaust. I aways associate bus stations with an unpleasant smell compounded, I suspect, of diesel fumes and carbon monoxide. It's a long time since I used bus stations regularly, but I always found them depressing places.

But not as cold as I remember bus stops being. The freezing rain coming at you horizontally. The howling wind. The prowling drunk. The indecipherable timetable. And people ask why we prefer cars!

Not to mention the odd bus driver who thinks it's absolutely hilarious to go zooming past you with a big grin when you've been standing there in the rain for an hour

It makes you wonder what a person has in their life if buses are the object of their desire. Sad really
