Talking a real customer call taken at ntl....

'Mr Gill or Barrington Foulkes-Smythe, his solicitor who dealt with the Hillsborough disaster and the Lee Bowyer case (same person depending on time of day and amount of medication or Brandy he'd had)had run up a bill of thousands calling somewhere in Russia. This apparently to his ex gold medal winning oympic gymnast wife of 25 (the guy was in his 60's)who had had to return home due to family crisis. When a demand was made for money Mr Gill/Foulkes-Smythe whoever, advised that he lived in a mansion(flat 9 in Leeds somewhere) opposite Jimmy Saville who was a personal friend and that he was worth millions. When pushed a bit harder Mr Gill explained that when he was in the army he'd never lost a man and threatened to shoot one of my colleagues. He then said that he couldn't speak any longer as that during the war he'd fallen 20000 feet when his parachute "roman candled"? and had broken every bone in his body and had to go to the hospital to have his metal plates cooled by laser treatment. '

If that is a genuine customer call, regardless of whether any of the claims in it are true or not, you've just breached customer confidentiality by posting it to this site. I don`t believe that NTL staff have the right to post the specific details of communications between customers and staff to a public forum. Nice one, another example that NTL don`t give a damn about data protection.

Orangebird is not ntl and ntl is not Orangebird, so you can't accuse a whole company of something based on one person's actions.

Aside from that, who on earth is going to be able to identify this person based on the information here? And how is discussing this here any different than going down the pub and saying, 'you'll never guess what kind of nutter we had on the phone today...' ?

ok, report the post and get it deleted.

I posted it cos it was funny, NOT because I 'don't give a damn'.

In fact, don't worry, I'll report it myself.....

I reported it and asked the mods to remove it - just as I have on this thread. Apparantly, it wasn't just a funny story, but a middle finger to data protection and a brutal display of contempt to all ntl customers.....

There are some folks about who will have a go at ntl no matter what. It's a sad fact of life. Rest assured most of us can tell the difference between the corporate behemoth that is ntl and the long-suffering people that work there and (generally) do their best for the customers.

Then again, there are some folks who will defend ntl no matter what, or they tend to give that impression anyway.

And there are some folks who will always take a cheap shot, even when it's entirely off topic.

Well, if one of you lot got your details of a private conversation splashed all over an online forum I`m sure you wouldn`t be pleased, but I guess since this isn`t relating to any of you then it is a different matter entirely.
