I thought people said "bless you" when you sneezed as sneezing was one of the signs of the plague and it was said in hope that it wasn't what caused you to sneeze?

1. Coca-Cola was originally green.
False: http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/green.asp
2. Each king in a deck of playing cards represents a great king from history. Spades - King David, Clubs - Alexander the Great, Hearts - Charlemagne, and Diamonds - Julius Caesar.
False. Two suits derive from the original Swords (Spades) and Batons or Wands (Clubs) the others come from "national variations".
See: http://jducoeur.org/game-hist/seaan-cardhist.html
4. If a statue of a person in the park on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle;
False: http://www.snopes.com/military/statue.htm
16. Shakespeare invented the word 'assassination' and 'bump'.
Dubious. Assassin derives from the Arabic "Hashishim". Bump probably relates to Scandinavian "bumpe: a strike with the fist" OED
19. The electric chair was invented by a dentist.
Actually true!
23. The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
For certain values of "strongest". Eg the one that can actually do the most work for longest is the heart.
27. You can't kill yourself by holding your breath.
False. Free divers can over-ride the "got to breathe" reflex to the extent that they have to be monitored in breath holding contests.
29. People say "Bless you" when you sneeze because when you sneeze, your heart stops for a millisecond.
False http://www.snopes.com/language/phrases/blessyou.htm
As for the rest, I've either not checked or I'm not familar with their truth or falsehood.

That just proves that the Americans didn't follow the convention, that hardly counts in my book!

But once you loose consciousness your bodies natural reflex will again take over, as you can not control the "must breathe" reflex once unconscious.
Thats what I was always lead to believe.
