Just don't kill it, try and entice it out the window by playing an eerie melody on a magical golden flute

Re: Never mind ghosts in the machine
Well thanks a bunch guys I had to leave it alone, thats how much I hate spiders, I never liked them but my ' fear / dread / phobia, was re-inforced when I was bitten whilst working in Namibia, I had to go to hospital twicw a day to get the dressings changed, not that easy getting on and off a high security diamond mine willy nilly anyhoo since then I really don't care for them.
I tried over-coming my fear by meeting it head on, I let a spider the size of your hand crawl up my arm, the outcome ???
You really don't want to know

OK, picture this, there was I thinking " i'm not afraid of you " " you only move slowly and i'm quick " so I put my hand down on the floor so it could walk ' slowly ' up my arm. Well, no sooner had it got one of its legs onto my hand it was galloping up my arm like Red Rum. I was jumping around the room shouting get it off of me, much to my mates amusment.
Lesson learned, if you're every fiber says " no way " then take it as no no no no way..... lol, never to be repeated.

I feel guilt easily Snails are a nightmare - I'm like the Sugar Plum fairy trying to avoid them. It's just awful when you stand on one - that ghastly crunch and you know you've snuffed out a life; possibly another family without a father/mother.
bopdude - why did you think the spider would be slow moving? No spider moves slowly It was probably being friendly. Either that or it was going for the throat
