They would be the genuine asylum seekers who flew in directly, you know, that tiny percentage.
Its why I like the idea of asylum processing centres throughout the countries that border europe, to assist those in need, and sort out the bogus ones.
After being through the process and found to be genuine, they'd be sent to a country of the asylum board's choosing (via quotas etc) and would arrive not as asylum seekers, so they'd only be entitled to the benifits that someone in that country gets, so no privilidge treatment. They'd be able to work straight away (a job being found for them whilst in the processing centre).
The public is likely to be more welcoming if they know these people actually do need asylum and are paying taxes like everyone else.
The thing about "travelling through every safe country", safe for us brits, but if they're really in need of asylum, and fear that other countries like Austria aren't going to give them it, they'd head for the best chance they have.
Not as sinister as economic migrants/bogus asylum seekers, but not as good as a quota system.
