Looks like they have finally realised that they have a snowballs chance in hell of getting anywhere so they have gone down the comedy route and he must be getting desperate for publicity.

He can't do any worse than a fair few of our previous representatives. He can certainly belt out a song and does have a fan base internationally that may go some way to help scupper some of the normal voting practices. I for one will be more interested in the outcome than I have been for quite a few years.

I think they should get Terry Wogan to do a rap. that would stand a better chance

Re: Engelbert Humperdinck is UK Eurovision act for 2012
Well he can't be any worse than previous British entrants..Besides which we have a snowball's chance in hell of winning anyway because the voting is purely politically motivated. It has BA to do with talent.
Can anyone actually hum the last 5 years winner songs? No! Well that sums up just how culturally inept the whole process is.

Why shouldn't he be.He's about the same age as Tom Jones and like TJ is still performing.

They may be alive, but well past their prime. I wouldn't bet on winning.

Re: Engelbert Humperdinck is UK Eurovision act for 2012
Engelbert still owes my (late) father some money he borrowed from him back in the 50s. He could pay me back now if he likes. (+ interest).

I already pointed out that the contest has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with politics and historically long held racial dislike of US as the ones who kept going across to Europe and bashing the hell out of them and tromping their navies on the high seas.
We have been the outsiders, are the outsiders and will always be the outsiders.
Mind the paranoia works both ways..
