Homeland (TV Show)

So i've started watching this TV show today, onto the 2nd episode, very good show, interesting, well acted but as with most American movies and TV shows that deal with Afghanistan, there are too many references to Arabic, Arabs, "Afghans" speaking Arabic, even though in Afghanistan Arabic is not a spoken language by its people.

You would think they would at least try and do basic research about a country before hand right...

Re: Homeland (TV Show)

Well, in most US TV shows, the British all have a strange half-English half-Australian accent*, so they aren't just picking on Afghanis.....

*think of Rachel Ward (her accent....).

Re: Homeland (TV Show)

I've also noticed in American movies they always show British people with a very posh Queens style accent, which isn't rally your typical day to day British person.

Re: Homeland (TV Show)

It might be because the programmes are dramatic fiction, rather than documentaries....

Re: Homeland (TV Show)

There is already a US timeline for this show here http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/11...eason-1-a.html

Is this a UK timeline thread? If yes then the mods will move it to the correct forum and give it the correct prefix, otherwise please use the existing thread.

Re: Homeland (TV Show)

true, but they are not going to show Germans speaking French in their home land, or Mexicans speaking Hindi
