Yes if it arrives a free trial to try the service l am sure would be quite popular.

They'll be wanting to steal some of Lovefilm's thunder so I would assume will definitely have free trials

Yeah I must admit I'd be shocked if there wasn't some kind of free trial.

I've merged this with the previous Netflix thread.

All of those devices already have Netflix in the US, so it would make sense for them to have it in the UK once it's launched here.

It's live!
www.netflix.com
One month free trial. After that it's £5.99 for unlimited streaming. Just the one package, no tiers or discs-in-the-post like Lovefilm.

I've just given it a quick test on the PS3. Starship Troopers in HD with 5.1 audio - nice
Nothing on the UK iTunes App Store yet, but hopefully won't take long given that the app already exists on the US App Store.

Tonnes of content on this.
I may re-activate my Lovefilm sub at some point (as a £4.99 streaming-only package) and see which service has the most stuff I'd watch.
Device-wise it's quite matched. Both have apps on the PS3, both (will) have apps on the 360 (UK Netflix 360 app isn't out yet but surely will be soon), both (will) have iOS apps (again, the UK Netflix iOS app isn't out yet but should be soon). Not sure about Android - I think Netflix is on Android, not sure about Lovefilm.

Think it's a bit of complicated sign up process, and it triggered NatWest's fraud prevention on my debit card lol

From the Netflix site:

Manage video quality
We know that some of you have internet data caps and we want to make it easier for you to manage how much data you use.
We offer 3 video quality settings to help you manage your data usage. No matter what level you choose, your Netflix membership price will remain the same.
- Good quality (up to 0.3 GB per hour)
- Better quality (up to 0.7 GB per hour)
- Best quality (up to 1 GB per hour, or up to 2.3 GB per hour for HD)

Looks good but I'll wait until the Xbox and iPad apps are available before I go for the free trial.
Any one know what it's like for new movies? Could this be a replacement for sky movies or will it just be older films?

I may have been looking in the wrong place, but there didn't seem to be much content on the home page.
I decided to take the free trial and there is much more than there appeared to be.
As it's free for a month, nothing to lose. And you can sign up without the dreaded facebook link (make sure you're signed out of FB.)

Xbox app is available now. Or at least it popped up as a featured app on my dashboard this evening ...maybe because I've had the app installed for a couple of weeks now
Hopefully it's content available for streaming is a lot better (and more up to date) than Lovefilm's. Lovefilm's selection is just rubbish.
