re: Best cover bands and songs that you have seen?
There was a good U2 covers/parody outfit doing the rounds in the late 80s and early 90s called The Joshua Trio ... one of the few bands i was bothered enough to go and see when I was a stoodent.
GaGa are a great current Queen tribute but they're more interesting for the pleasure of hearing the stuff played live (and done well). They don't attempt to mimic the band itself, which is probably for the best as that sort of high camp would be very hard to pull off..
And of course you can't beat the Bootleg Beatles.

I first saw these when I worked at Butlins (Minehead) in 1996 and as you say they are brilliant.
I should have said that the main point of this thread is to try and get people out to see what we say are good cover bands. Also it is good free advertising for the bands as well?

I saw No Way Sis once, the Oasis tribute band. The songs were ok but because "Liam" was Glaswegian there were certain words he couldn't pronounce the way the real Liam does which spoilt it a bit.

Agree with comments about Bootleg Beatles, fantastic live act.
How about Bjorn Again (Abba) who have quite a few variations in touring bands under the same name.

Could the mods change the title to the best cover bands and songs?

Not really a big fan of tribute bands having said that though Limehouse Lizzy do a good job of Phil and the band have seen them a couple of times.

And this one too.The Jam tribute band.

The sound on the video does not do the Jamm justice,i have seen them in a small venue Harlow Square the sound was awesome.
