Jean Michel Jarre - Monaco 01-07-2011
In case anyone missed it, Jean Michel Jarre performed a free concert in Monaco last night in honour of Price Albert's wedding. It was broadcast on UStream.tv and is currently archived there for anyone who wants to watch it. If you're a fan it's definitely worth a watch.

Re: Jean Michel Jarre - Monaco 01-07-2011
It's a shame that Euronews only provide generic EPG data as I have a wish list set up on my TiVo to record anything with Jean Michel Jarre in, but because there was no mention in Euronews' listings it didn't record it. And the listings are the same on the V+ and on DigiGuide, before anyone tries to turn this into a TiVo-bashing thread.

I'd love to see him live again one day. I saw him at Destination Docklands and on the Chronologie tour at Wembley Stadium and he's absolutely amazing live.

Well - he's not done anything decent for a few years - Teo & Tea was a bit of a cop-out....

Was it live this time around or pre-recorded?

Wow! You are one lucky person! I wish I had been there. It looks amazing.
I hope you had a great time in Monaco. Did you fly into Nice?
Great landing there isnt it!

A mix of both - he does more live these days than he used to.
The laser harp broke - again. It did it last year in Brussels - in big style as well. Have a look at YouTube for the videos!
Here's a couple of photos I took. We went for the mid-view this time. I've done the front row many many times now and decided this time it would be better to get more panoramic view as the stage was wider.

Yep - it was a bit of mad week - went to Dublin for a concert on Wednesday and got back to the UK on Thursday about 7pm.
Been to Nice / Cannes / Monaco a few times now - yeah - the landing at Nice Cote d'Azur Airport is cool! (Why are we landing in the water???!!)
Flew out from Birmingham (90 mile drive away) at 10.30am - got to Nice around 2.30pm. In Monaco with friends having late lunch / dinner at a brasserie at Port Hercule at 4pm. After the concert we hung around for a bit and then made the slow walk back to the hotel - which was actually in France! It's a strange place Monaco!!
Flight back on the Saturday at 5.20pm and back home by 9pm. Good times!

Yeah it tended to be around the Houston/Lyon period when he was just getting to grips with these monumental visuals and with the technology available at the time it was incredibly difficult to perform the newer stuff (from Rendez-Vous) with live gear. After China I was really disappointed about that.
As for the laser harp: I curse Jarre for popularising the Elka Synthex! I've been after one for years but they never come up because of the Jarre collector factor, bah.
Great pics anyway, must have been a fantastic spectacle.

Well you didn't see JMJ then as he played the NIA in 2009 & 2010!
Last time he was at the NEC was 1997 during the Oxygene Tour
