DVD Adverts aarrrrgggghhh
Why oh why do stupid entertainment companies force me to watch their Adverts on a DVD that I have paid for.
I don't even get the option to skip them and to top it off it ends with a mr t advert for snickers!!!!
Put them on by all means at the end of the film or if they have to go on at the start let the top menu feature work!!!!
End rant and breath!

Chapter Skip generally still works on the ads

Re: DVD Adverts aarrrrgggghhh
Even worse are the anti piracy trailers. I've subscribed to the message and paid for the product so I don't need to be reminded thank you very much. If I got a pirated copy then I wouldn't have to have to waste minutes of my life watching that rubbish.

Re: DVD Adverts aarrrrgggghhh
sometimes it is faster to re-author the disc and watch it on a media streamer
the adds can be stupid

Re: DVD Adverts aarrrrgggghhh
or you could just put the dvd on a few minute earlier, chill out, and ignore them.

I could but I don't see why I should.
If the film was free then yep advertise away but since I have paid for it I should be able to skip if I wish.
I cant re author the disc as it's blueray.

Have to say most of the Blu Ray discs I've bought recently haven't disabled the 'Top Menu' function so you can skip everything.
In fact Disney are now putting a instruction on their disks to explain to do so

Re: DVD Adverts aarrrrgggghhh
When the adverts go on my DVDs, I press the home button and it goes to the DVD route menu? doesn't yours do the same. But with the whole skip buttons on the adverts thats a no go just doesn't work!!

It's the same with the Cinema, I can't believe just how many ads there are before the film actualy shows.
I don't often go to the cinema, so seeing Star trek (2009) in the cinema and it was about 25 minutes worth of adverts before the film started.
I can understand why people show up late.

I was playing that particular film through the ps3, I tried lots of things.
chapter skip, top menu, home, shouting at the ps3,shouting at the TV,closing my eyes and praying to Jebus to make the adverts go away
At the time it just annoyed me, I couldn't see and still can't see why a snickers advert had any relevance to the film I was watching..

Our little un has many a dvd that wont let you skip the adverts and or intro copyright etc messages. I know in some cases they are not adverts, But if I boutht a certain company dvd release I dont need to sit through a good 30 seconds or more to say this is a BBC dvd and this is our childrens dvd release intro and or jingle before we let you navigate tothe menu!.

I goto the cinema quite a lot (got an unlimited card) i NEVER enter the cinema untill 20 after the advertised start time. To date i have not once missed the start of the feature. Though i've had a couple of close calls (came in just as the BBFC notice is on screen).
