RIP John I have to say that you made me laugh at a lot of the scenes, Also made me cry at the others. Such a Comedic writer that will be greatly missed

RIP John Sullivan.
Citizen Smith, Only Fools & Horses, Just Good Friends and Dear John are probably four of the best comedies of the last 40 years.
I liked the way that he could switch from comedy to drama and back again without missing a beat. A good example is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_nMMffZ3eU . Another good example is Cassandra's miscarriage in the 1996 xmas special.

What sad news, Britain has lost perhaps its best modern day comedy writer at the relatively young age of 64.
Among his greats were: "Dear John", "Just Good Friends" and of course "Only Fools".
RIP John you really will be missed by a grateful nation.
