Help identifying old Hard Back Horror Book/Comic

My brother used to have a pictorial book of horror stories done in comic book style (like The Beano, Dandy etc) in Hard Back, but all I can remember are some of the stories. Just wondering if these 'memories' might jog someone elses memory as to what the darn book was called!!

Here we go:

World war I/II pilot (can't remember) bails out of his burning plane and opens his parachute, as he's floating down a tentacle suddenly wraps around him. He looks up and the parachute is in fact a giant mouth and more tentacles grab him and start lifting him up to the mouth. The last shot is a long distance view of the parachute with all the 'cords/tentacles' pulled up to the parachute/mouth as it floats down in the twilight!

Next one:

Man in a hotel/motel bedroom keeps hearing a snake in his room, I think he either reports it to the owner of just ignores it but eventually he's attacked by the snake, again I can't remember if he reports this or ignores it but the man is eventually found dead, strangled by one of the curtains in the room which has the same pattern as the snake that attacked him!!

Another one:

A man has a parcel delivered which turns out to be a statue of hand and forearm, he places it on the table at the side of the bed. During the night he hears a 'thump' and notices the statue is gone. Looking around the hand has now turned into a full arm and torso crawling around the room. That's all I can remember!

Last one, very brief:

A small dwarf/man running with a large stilleto knife!!

That's all I can remember as it must have been over 30 years ago since I last saw this book.

Does it jog anyones memory?

Re: Help identifying old Hard Back Horror Book/Comic

There was a few horror comics around at the time including 'Tales From the Crypt'
'Haunt of Fear' and 'Vault of Horror' some are available online. it does sound like their sort of stories.

Sorry I can't be any more help (but I'll ask my friend Doug)

Re: Help identifying old Hard Back Horror Book/Comic

I keep thinking of 'Dracula' for some reason when I think of this book?? I honestly cannot remember the title, and it's one of those long forgotten things that if someone did suggest the right title it might not even jog my memory!!

In a similar vein, I remember going on holiday as kid and someone had left a small horror comic in a caravan, the story I remember was a man going into a large greenhouse that had lots of butterflies flying around, one of them settled on his finger and when the butterfly flew off it had eaten the tip of his finger down to the bone, then all the butterflies landed on him and all that was left was his skeleton!!

Gee, I did read some morbid stuff as a kid I also think the film 'Killdozer' was playing on the TV!
