Prolectrix Dongle - TV & Radio From Around The World

They are the number 1 seller on the situp channels - bid tv, price drop & speed auction. When they were first on they were going for about £60 but now they are going for about £30. You get 20,000 radio & 5000 tv stations from around the world. Are they worth it, are they any good?

In fact there is one coming up at about 5.30pm on price drop.

Maybe I am being a little thick here, but why would you need a USB dongle to view TV on your computer, via your computer's network interface?

Doing a little googling, assuming you actually want to buy one, I'd avoid any of the TV auction channels selling them. They are worth no where near £60, and you can get them for £19.99 on ebay, so well below the £30.

Re: Prolectrix Dongle - TV & Radio From Around The World

I forgot to mention that bid & pricedrop charge £7.99 p&p & £1.53 to phone & get one so thats £9.52 on top of whatever it sells for.

I've been following these for about 4-5 months and they give them a good sell & they sound good in theory. Apparently on a Saturday afternoon on Norwegian tv they show live premiership football at 3pm and youd be able to watch it on this. I've noticed a few complaints about them on places like Amazon so instead of jumping in & getting one i thought i'd get some trusted and respected opinion here first.

Re: Prolectrix Dongle - TV & Radio From Around The World

I've always wondered: What do these dongles do for you that you can't get from a web browser (plus free software if necessary)? And how do they do it?

With a dongle they are all conveniently in one place like genre, country, language etc without having to search the web for hours. Is there free software that will do this?

Re: Prolectrix Dongle - TV & Radio From Around The World

My concern is that you are paying for a dongle that does nothing. I am also slightly concerned that the manufacturer dont appear to have a website where you can check exactly what is available.

You don't need any extra hardware to watch streaming tv. I have seen no indication anywhere what exactly the dongle hardware does. This leads me to suspect it does nothing apart from add to the price.
