British boxing fans, your help is needed!

Brian Magee Vs. Lucian Bute extended highlights were broadcast by BBC One Ireland last night.

You can watch the highlights on BBC iplayer here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...Magee_vs_Bute/

As you'll already know, boxing hasn't been on the BBC for almost 7 years. The BBC however have a reputation of supporting content if it has success on the iplayer platform. What I'm hoping is if this gets sufficient hits, the BBC may consider bringing boxing back.

If you get the chance, please click the above link and watch some of the footage. The more hits the better. We want more free boxing on British television!

Also please share this on other boxing forum etc. I seriously beleive we have a chance to have our voice heard here. It's worth a try

Cant see this taking off.

Sky covers every main attraction in boxing leaving BBC with unheard of fighters

But then again its also a massive chance to give a young upcoming fighter spotlight to propel him onto grander stages!

Re: British boxing fans, your help is needed!

Most of the British attention if not all goes straight to David Haye and Amir Khan for obvious reasons.

But there are chances to get young title holders/challengers on the TV

Have you seen what classes as boxing these days?

I'll stick with the Mayweather's and Khan's

Nathan Cleverly looks the part but no doubt he'll be on sky

I'm not a boxing fan..so no.However my point still stands.IF you are a true boxing fan you'll want to watch the up and coming fighters before it costs too much to watch them because they have got to the higher tiers. and on to the pay for view.

Re: British boxing fans, your help is needed!

I'd much rather see a Boxing show, A brilliant Idea would be a Match of the day type of show but with Boxing!

They show Big match Highlights inbetween Impressive low named fights!

The Main attraction Highlights would drag the viewers in which would also get these younger stars that have impressed on the telly and making a name.

Sounds like a plan. How about pitching it to the BBC,VM,ESPN or Sky?

Re: British boxing fans, your help is needed!

Thanks to anyone who clicked the link, or watched the show. It probably won't change anything however thought it was worth a try.

Interestingly BBC Two Wales are showing highlights of the Welsh Amateur Boxing Association's Finals this Saturday night. I hope this turns up on Virgin catch up or iplayer.

Sadly I think this might be the last boxing on the BBC until the Olympics. Personally I enjoy watching boxing at any level. I enjoy watching a young fighters career flourish from novice to prospect, British to European and finally world level.

Amateur boxing and young fighters coming through wouldn't cost the BBC much to cover however if they don't see there is a demand for it, it'll never happen.

On the other hand it's the sort of thing they should be doing. They could easily put it in the slot that they show darts and snooker.

Re: British boxing fans, your help is needed!

Just watched the amateur boxing shown on BBC2 Wales last night on iplayer, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've submitted feedback to the BBC on the below link thanking them for their recent coverage and asking for more.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/front_page/3701180.stm

If you love boxing, and want to see more on TV, drop them some feedback.

Thanks again

P.S. If you are interested you can watch last nights amateur boxing on catch-up TV. The programme is simply called Boxing. Alternatively the below link will take you to the show.

Re: British boxing fans, your help is needed!

Great show, If only they could include some big name highlights in there and what i've said about would really take off!

But nonetheless that was a suprisingly good show
