The online streams aren't the best in terms of quality. An option could be to zoom in on the webpage so that the player is slightly bigger but not blown up to full screen size. Ctrl + a few times should do the trick.
Doesn't compare to watching a movie in blu-ray quality though!

Best to rent the DVDs rather than download. I have downloaded a couple of times and was disappointed with screen quality.

I'm also a LoveFilm subscriber and have been disappointed with the PQ of the streams. For now getting the physical DVD/BR disc is definitely the way to go, even if it does mean you don't always get to see the movie/show you want when you want!

Thanks all for the replies,
think the moral of the story is, use there DVD rental service!
Just to let you all know; I found a cool website that basically shows the majority of TV shows in both US and UK
Seesaw.com - and the quality is actually good, my prayers have been answered lol :P

Ummm ... sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but:

Arqiva is on the brink of closing its video-on-demand service Seesaw after failing to drum up the necessary funding.
Seesaw, which features a mix of ad-funded and premium catch-up VOD from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5, has placed its team of around 30 staff on a 30-day consultation period in which time it will continue to look to sell the service.
