Radio Caroline bids to return to Medium Wave
Radio Caroline are calling for OFCOM to release an unused medium wave frequency to allow them to broadcast to south east england. An Early Day Motion has been presented to parliament to treat Radio Caroline as a special case, and Caroline are looking to their supporters to write to their local MP's to enlist their help. To date 51 MP's have signed up to the EDM.

Re: Radio Caroline bids to return to Medium Wave
I reckon a lot of AM stations are going to appear when HMG finally kills off national AM/FM transmitters to move us all to DAB because DAB radios are power hogs not suited to portable devices.

But it was different and it was modern and your parents hated it.
Radio Luxembourg was very much the same.

Re: Radio Caroline bids to return to Medium Wave
I for one would welcome them back. No matter what music station you tune into be it on FM, AM or DAB the music choice is the same, and the music servers they use now have the same predictable playlists. Caroline with its all album format would be a refreshing change.
Caroline have turned down the opportunity of DAB, and no wonder. Most DAB sets are mains powered, and of the 34 million vehicles on our roads only 100,000 are fitted with DAB radios. Yes they are on Sky, and the £20,000 it costs them a year for an EPG slot is almost killing them. The cost of an AM licence would be about half this figure, and would get them considerably more listeners. Their chances of succeeding are slim but I would love to see them back.
