Etta James, singer of "At Last" and "I Just Wanna Make Love To You" (amongst other great soul songs), is battling Leukemia and is fighting to stay alive.

Her representative has asked that her fans pray for her to stay alive to see her 73rd Birthday on Tuesday.

I have to admit, I am not sure I'd wish that on her. While I don't know any leukemia sufferers, I've seen people in the end stages of other cancers, and I wouldn't want anyone to go through what they went through.

On the other hand, it might be nice for her to reach her birthday.

Either way, I hope she is comfortable.

Totally agree what you you just said. I have to be honest and say I have never heard of her but I wouldn't like to see her suffer on as like you, I have seen the suffering from cancer in the late stages. If her wish was to get to her birthday then by all means I wish her the best of luck but would hope that it was a pain free time for her.
