Re: The Beatles appear on iTunes for the first time
Hmmmm. £10.99 for an album? Not such a great deal.
Some of The Beatles later albums have lots of shorter songs on them and it's only when you hear the songs in order that you appreciate how they were put together. On their own, they start and stop suddenly.
I'd save your money and buy the original CD's in the shops, complete with artwork, etc for around the same amount of money.
Excellent piece of reporting work from our American friends though!

Good news, yes.
Something that will make today a day I "never forget"? No...

Better news would be that The Beatles back catalogue would be available on Spotify.

It may be a day Apple never forgets, but giving me one more way I can spend money on Beatles records isn't something I'd call particularly memorable.. After all, they have been released on Vinyl, Cassette and CD several times. I dare say they've probably also been released on MiniDisc, DAT and 8 track at least once.
Don't get me wrong, I do like some of The Beatles songs (Sgt. Pepper is, IMO, one of the best albums ever), but it's not as if they are hard to get.

Re: The Beatles appear on iTunes for the first time
It was an over the top teaser on their site the day before but they didn't hype nearly as much as they do for other events. They usually have a big event, with a week of speculation, for a product. Anyone expecting something ground breaking to be released on the site only was setting themselves up for a fall.

I know what you mean.......I had all the studio albums on vinyl, never went down the cassette road, bought all but 3 on CD. In spite of meaning to get around to going in to a music store or Amazon online to fill the gaps, it was just too easy to download them from iTunes.
The saddest thing is, I even returned to iTunes the same night and downloaded all the B sides of the UK released singles that were lost to me when I got rid of the vinyl...........oh dear.
