'independence day' / 'war of the worlds' springs to mind. a mix of the 2 perhaps. think I'll hold out for blu-ray... maybe. get the feeling it's gonna be a disappointment.

and to be honest, it totally looks like it's trying to sell itself on special effects, which is why I think it will be a disappointment. I can well imagine it will do well for takings, but I also reckon that although the concept might be good, the execution through the writing and storyline will really bring it down.
