Re: Mass Effect the movie?

Hmm. The story is quite old. Have you seen anything more recent?

I'm not so sure about this... it's pretty much my favourite game at the moment, & the whole universe is great, so it could make a good movie.

But... how often do game > movie adaptations actually turn out good...

The Halo movie is also on IMDB, I doubt we'll ever see anything come of that either

Re: Mass Effect the movie?

Isn't that so many different episodes? Also, the Halo movie was meant to be directed by District 9 creator.

Re: Mass Effect the movie?

Making a crappy collection of short anime based upon "Halo" is a far cry from making an actual movie.

The Halo movie fell apart due to arguments over the budget, IIRC, and is currently indefinitely on-hold.

Other games: There's been talk of a Gears of War movie, God of War movie, BioShock movie, Uncharted movie, etc... I don't think any of them have actually progressed significantly in any way.

As I said before, game>movie adaptations are rarely (if ever) good. Streetfighter, Mortal Kombat, Tomb Raider, Mario, Resident Evil, all the Uwe Boll movies, Max Payne, etc... IMO they range from utterly awful to average.

Movie>game adaptations also tend to be crap too, although there have been a few successes (GoldenEye, Riddick).

If an ME movie were ever made, I can't help but think it would be horrendously disappointing.
