Re: tv over christmas
The joys of Christmas and what broadcasters perceive to be captive audiences. We have about 40 hours of programmes to catch up with on our Sky HD box plus a load of DVD we are still trying to find time to watch. Think we are due about 3 days on our reclining sofa with wine and nibbles

Re: tv over christmas
It has been many years since UK Xmas TV satisfied my need for entertainment... but thankfully it's not French Xmas TV which actually makes you think you fell back in time a few decades to a period when amateurish self-important D-list celebs thought they owed us extended periods of their presence on our screens.
Thankfully I get a few DVDs for presents... and Top Gear will be on (and repeated).

Is free and can be customised, it usually only does 7 days ahead but at christmas it does 2 weeks.

Re: tv over christmas
i was talking to my wife about this the other night ,It seems to me that the amount of new british made programs is getting less and less each year ,constantly it is old re-runs moved from channel to channel and re-organised repeated endlessly ,take yesterday for example (not the channel the day)there was a full day of sherlock holmes (jeremy brett)on living these have been playing over the last few months one episode a day then clumped together for a whole day .Christmas used mean new made feature length episodes of our favorite shows ,now it's just clips hashed together with a few celebs commenting

Re: tv over christmas
Something I found rather amusing is the BBC's scheduling of the 2nd and 3rd "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies over Christmas:
They are showing the 3rd one, "At World's End", on Boxing Day... which is before they then show the 2nd one, "Dead Man's Chest", on New Year's Eve.
OK, doesn't really bother me, as I think both of them are crap, & not a patch on the first one, but it still seems a bit backwards...
