Doctor Who Season 4 (and xmas special)
Time for a new thread now that S3 is out of the way.
It seems that Kylie Minogue may be in the christmas special, and allthough there will be no Martha, she will apparently feature in some of the S4 episodes (apparently the BBC are releasing a statement tomorrow about her).
I also seems that the christmas special will feature the Titanic

Re: Doctor Who Season 4 (and xmas special)
The big question is who will be the next assistant?

Re: Doctor Who Season 4 (and xmas special)
Maybe the plan right from the start of the character was to only have a Martha story arc that lasted for one Season.? that's the feeling i've Got watching this year

Re: Doctor Who Season 4 (and xmas special)
There was only so far they could take the unrequited love arc, it would have been wrong for the Doctor to show a romantic interest in Martha given his reaction to losing Rose. Maybe it's time for another male companion?.

She'll have to stand on a box then otherwise any scenes with Tennant will look ludicrous.

BBC Doctor Who page has this re Martha...
Quote:
While the final episode of Series Three, screened last Saturday , saw The Doctor's companion Martha leave to care for her devastated family, and to break the cycle of unrequited love she feels for The Doctor, the production team has now confirmed that the character is set to make a triumphant return in the fourth series.
Freema Agyeman is also set to join the cast of Torchwood, where she will continue to play the character in three new episodes before returning to Doctor Who in the middle of the fourth series.

I believe the word is 'companion'
Hopefully this next season will be better than the one before as that was a let down as far as doctor who goes.

Re: Doctor Who Season 4 (and xmas special)
Just a thought, I wonder if the Doctor will encounter characters called 'Jack' and 'Rose' whilst onboard the Titanic. No, not the Dr Who charcters with those names but from James Cameron's Titanic.
I feel that might kind of fit in with RTD's wry sense of humour.
