I quite liked it too, but they did change a few things that they didn't need too.
Have you ever listened to the big finish audio adventures with Paul McGann. Some of them are fantastic and I really wish we had got to see more on screen action from him.

This is the easter egg from the episode 'blink': Insert Disk 4. On the main menu go to scene selection press select. Goto the last page, highlight 'keep looking'. Press up, press play/select
