Re: Big Brother
Wasn't the same word used again by Nikki just a few mins ago? Is it acceptable to say because she was repeating what Emily had said, or because she isn't white?

The problem is that (according to the poet, Mr. G who appears on the Russell Brand Show on Radio 2) black people don't consider "nigger" offensive if they say it, but it is offensive if a white person says it.
IF that is true (and while I don't know if it is, I know a lot of black people who do use the term almost as a greeting), then that is a double standard.
However, the way it's playing out on tele, it looks like Charlie and Nicky have persuaded Big Brother to evict Emily.

Re: Big Brother
I got the impression that Charly was upset for Emily and not and upset at what was said.

It's actually something I find quite worrying. Not so much what Emily said (which even Charlie said wasn't that offensive), but the fact the Big Brother did not act instantly, but only acted after 5 hours, and extensive discussion between Nicky and Charlie.
This suggests to me that BB was guided by those two. If that is the case, it gives the contestants a way to evict those they hate instantly.

Re: Big Brother
I wouldn't be surprised if someone was paid to take a fall so Channel 4 could be seen to be newly tough under the new restrictions.

Re: Big Brother
Anyone else watching the drivel on BB's Big Mouth? Apart from Galloway's irritating voice and accent, the self-righteous rubbish being spouted by the guests is driving me nuts!

Re: Big Brother
And so it seems BB stand by their decision, even though everything i'm reading tends to point to the fact she was in the wrong, but punished too severely.

I'm not sure this is going to turn out to be the best BB at all.

If what I read in the papers this morning is true then Emily has a history of being racist, calling asians Pakis, calling a black college mate a nigger and saying that she should work in KFC (all allegations).
I'd have to agree about not being sure about whether this series of BB will be the best. So far its been a pile of cack!
