Re: The Gadget Show
The whole "if people get better deals there will be less money to invest in upgrades" is a joke. Virgin have been the most expensive ISP for a while (on the top tier speed at least) and just where has that money gone so far? It's the middle of the day and my 20meg connection is giving me a whopping 8meg off the newsgroups. They have saturated the (heavily student populated) area I live in, and can't keep up. But I don't see them investing money in improving the service here.

they are not 'screwing me over', I am getting exactly what I am paying for, why are "customers like me" a problem???

Re: Gadget Show last night..
From her site:

We are still getting a lot of mail asking why Suzi isn't currently on the Gadget Show and enquiring about her health so I thought that I should just post this note on the site;
A few weeks ago Suzi was rushed into hospital for lifesaving surgery. She had suffered a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and was bleeding internally. At hospital she collapsed as she had lost 4 pints of blood and was very poorly. Sadly she lost the baby and the traumatic experience saw her spend 5 days in hospital and several weeks in recovery. She is still not strong enough to return to work and her hectic filming schedule, but hopes to be back as soon as she is well.

Re: Gadget Show last night..
V+ beat Sky HD & Apple TV when looking at on demand films, the SD pic was better on V+ as was film quantity.

I think all V+ owners agree, i was just shouting that at the telly when he said it about the sluggishness.

they also said they could live with it
Ignoring Apple TV for the moment it seems what they decided was that slow interface, decent choice of content, was better than faster interface, reduced choice of content - personally I cannot see why taking a little longer to choose from a menu is such a problem???
The film isn't slow once it starts, and as they said, on V+ can be watched immediately. How can having a faster menu then have to wait until the film starts be a better option???
Having said that I don't buy films on VOD, but I do hope Suzi gets well soon

Re: Gadget Show last night..
I was surprised when the Speccy won over the iMac, given the level of Apple-love the Gadget Show normally has...
