my standalone Samsung BD Player was £148 and that included the movie I bought with it.

what laptop have you got mate???? you might be able to get an internal 1

I have a Acer Aspire 5680 Notebook & a Samsung NC10 Netbook.
I doubt the NC10 could handle full 1080p, but the Acer can.
But I was thinking of getting a CD/DVD drive for the NC10, but for extra £'s I could get Blu-ray.

Received my Harry Potter box set on Blu Ray from Amazon. Watched the Philosophers Stone today and the picture quality is amazing

Thought I'd share that with you guys as it is supposed to be a must own for picture quality 
Its on Play.com and HMV at that price

Can't believe Taken is up to £17.99! I got that around Christmas time but it was on a 2 for £18 deal. Great film and good on Blu Ray.
I agree with you about not spending that on 1 film, I'm the same with Star Trek, not paying full whack for that if I can help it.
On the plus side, I have noticed that the new releases are dropping in price... Avatar on pre-order for £14.99 springs to mind

yea had pre-orders on Law abiding Citizen for £14.99 and Men who stare at goats for £14.99 (plus the book)
prices in general are coming down but a few are still VERY expensive (like Taken, Iron man was still £17.99 untill this week)
