Re: Amazon Delivery estimate
I've been reasonably impressed by Amazon on the occasional times I have made use of them. I like their (I suspect rather rare) policy of only debiting your credit card as each item is sent out. However, if you have any problems, their customer service, is to put it politely, diabolical. I ordered a number of items in time for Xmas and a few of them disappeared off my account (I eventually found that it was probably because I'd changed my email address to include ntl rather than ntlworld). Anyway, I was a bit worried if I'd get them in time for use as Xmas presents, so I emailed Amazon to ask them what the delivery dates were. Well, I begged, I pleaded, I grovelled, I screamed and would they tell me what was happening? Would they hell as like! They were obviously on complete autopilot, reading from the script, determined to avoid a rational conversation. Fortunately I eventually received the goods.
I also found that Amazon is very coy, not to say totally evasive, about providing a customer support phone number. I did eventually get one from this forum (thanks, whoever it was) and finally got an mail address from Amazon but, by that time, I was totally fed up and decided not to pursue it any further.
