am i paranoid ?
marina suggested a while ago i might have MS im progressively in agreement, im just looking at wiki and out of all the symptoms i get the following:
Quote:
|
The most common initial symptoms reported are: changes in sensation in the arms, legs or face complete or partial vision loss (optic neuritis) weakness double vision unsteadiness when walking and balance problems
|
Quote:
|
flickering eye movements, speech difficulties, tremor (always had that), clumsiness of the hands, abnormal muscle spasms, and bladder and bowel difficulties, difficulty following detailed instructions, loss of short term memory, emotional instability, and fatigue clinical depression, is a product of both causes. Feelings such as anger, anxiety, frustration, and hopelessness are also common, and suicide is a very real threat pain in one eye, followed by blurry vision Individuals typically develop rapid onset of numbness, weakness, bowel or bladder dysfunction, and/or loss of muscle function, typically in the lower half of the body
|
this also applies to me:
Quote:
|
Infections, such as the common cold, influenza, and gastroenteritis, increase the risk for a relapse. Emotional and physical stress may also trigger an attack
|
i often complain of pains in the back sometimes or arms, even at the top of my head....
i also get flashing long like worms infront of my eyes.....
also if im standing up, or walking i feel like the ground is moving and loose balance and fall to the side, i have to lean on something, it freaks me out...
what do you all think i should do...

Re: am i paranoid ?
Kronas
In one of your other threads 'im out of it' you said you were going to the hospital on the 3rd of August, is it to see about the symptoms you say you are experiencing? If not, I suggest you go along to your surgery and make an appointment for a full physical examination, then hopefully you will know once and for all if there is anything wrong with you.

Personally Kornas, I think you should stop worrying about your health and try and concentrate on getting over the depression.
No wonder your depressed when people tell you they think you have stuff like MS.
I get a lot of those symptoms and there is NOTHING at allk showing up on my tests, apart from a slight problem with my liver.
I get flashing lights, dizzines, pain in my lower back, pins and needles in my arms and legs. These things happen Kronas.
Dont convince yourself you have MS because you have some of the symptoms, thats like saying you have lung cancer because you have a cough.

Your collection of symptoms would be an atypical way for MS to present.....

Re: am i paranoid ?
Most of those symptoms I get every morning, after a heavy night before
With all due respect Kronas, I'm not convinced that trying to diagnose your wellbeing on a forum is actually helping you. All it does in fact is creates more stress and worry for you, as someone else comes up with another possible problem. We've seen this before, and no doubt will again. It's why many forums won't even allow the discussion of anything medical.
You need proper professional diagnosis and care. You, or if you aren't up to it, a parent, or other person close to you, needs to go with you to your doctor and force their hand to make them see this is serious and needs proper attention.

Re: am i paranoid ?
You ask in your post what you should do, go see your doctor, that is the best advice I can give and also read Robs post above as it makes a lot of sense

Kronas..... apologies for not waiting for your email reply but you have to understand that i just couldn't, given the circumstances.
You say that i suggested to you that you might have MS........ now i can't remember ever saying that to you, either online or in person. If you'd mentioned having neurological symptoms, i may have said that sometimes these can lead to a diagnosis of a neurological condition e.g MS etc. I probably also said that negative results in clinical tests can also prove to be misleading, in that they one can have the early stages of a neurological condition and not show.
I am not a doctor and have never claimed to be, although i have suggested possibilities and getting professional opinions based on my own experience and knowledge.
I really wish you'd emailed me first, instead of posting on here and mentioning my name in this way There are at least two people on this forum who have MS, one who you have the email address for, and if you had any concerns, it might have helped to contact them.
Apart from that, out of the symptoms that you've quoted from wiki, if you'd had optic neuritis, it would have been so debilitating that you would have been seen by a doctor for it, but then perhaps you have. Unexplained pain, weakness in limbs or paresthesia obviously should be checked........ since they can be linked to hundreds of different medical conditions....... as the others say, if you're worried....... see a doctor.
I'm sorry kronas...... you HAD to go and mention my name....... although it could possibly be another m***** that you know..... in which case, apologies and.......... err......... oops.

Re: am i paranoid ?
Kronas, I would echo Rob C's advice to you. You need to concentrate on relaxing and improving your depression. You really should be involving yourself with your GP if you aren't already.

Re: am i paranoid ?
Kronas I wouldn't say a damned word about what I suspected to a doctor. They will immediately get annoyed at your presumption in diagnosing your own case. They will also STILL have to investigate ALL possibilities just to be certain. If you go in saying what you think you have they will also automatically just think of you as a hypochondriac.
Just tell them your symptoms and let them do the diagnosing. They have the skills and qualifications on the whole that you do not. Then IF you are unhappy with the final diagnoses you can go for a second opinion.

Ask yourself this Kronas.
If I sit around all day feeling ill, Will I feel ill?
If I do something with my time, if I go to the gymn, will I feel better?
Sitting around at home wondering what illnesses you have is a problem K matey. You really need to stop thinking like this, because if you dont your depression and despair are not going to go away.
I know its not easy, I was worried to death about swelling in my right testicle, I refused point blank to go to the doctors. It was on the third night without sleep with worry over it, I remembered crushing it when I got in the car. (I sat down awkward)
then there was the time I had a rash and a painfull neck, Well by the time I had sat and considered going to the doctor, everyhting was fine. Mainly because I didnt want to think about it, and mainly because even if I had something like meningitis there was no way in hell they were gonna do a spinal tap on me.
Just forget about it Krony, it really is not worth worrying about.
Have you had any blood tests recently? If not get some done. It will help put your mind at ease.
And if you dont get on with your GP, get another one, one you can trust.
