Re: Grass Type to kill ?

It's a ryegrass - used for hardwearing lawns.

Do you want to kill it but not the rest of the grasses in your lawn? If so, I think you're out of luck. You'd have to dig up the lawn and returf.

If you just want to kill all the plants in an area then start again, spray with glyphosate. It only kills the plants it touches. The soil is unharmed so you can replant immediately. (Well, as soon as the weeds have died - a couple of weeks)

Re: Grass Type to kill ?

Just keep it mowed... regularly... and it will toughen your lawn against kids.... most lawn mixes contain ryegrass for that very reason. Leave it to flower and set seed and it will soon become the dominant grass type in your lawn.
